Disney at Work Blog
My favorite Fantasylands of all Fantasylands is the one found in Disneyland Paris. The details is dripping with little nuggets that you simply can’t find anywhere else. I love the stained glass in Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant, the whimsical topiary maze of Alice’s Curious Labyrinth, and the unique vistas found in the canal boat ride of Le Pays des Contes de Fees. It is a beautiful park, even in the snows of winter.
A particular highlight is Snow White’s Scary Adventures, or Blanche-Neige et les Sept Nains, which looks similar on the outside to Disneyland’s version. There above the entrance lies the Quicked Ween, I mean the Wicked Queen. She stares down at you in distaste and envy.
Much different than any other park is this little scene that connects the attraction to a nearby retail store called a Chaumière des Sept Nains, or the Seven Dwarfs’ Cottage.

The Recipe for Living Happily Ever After
Blanche-neige et les sept nains
Lessons in life can be found here at Snow White’s Scary Adventures
Here Snow White’s animal friends are working together to help do the laundry. Pitching in to help, they seem to have a good time (especially the turtle) in lending their individual talents to getting the job done.
The contradiction of the queen looking down on others and the animals working together make me think of our own work lives and what ultimately leads to success. Walt Disney once said, “Togetherness, for me, means teamwork. In my business of motion pictures and television entertainment, many minds and skillful hands must collaborate...the work seems to comprehend the spiritual and material needs and yearnings of gregarious humanity.”
Walt also said: “People often ask me if I know the secret of success and if I could tell others how to make their dreams come true. My answer is, you do it by working.”
We can choose to isolate ourselves through our pride and vanity, or we can pitch in, work with others, and enjoy the journey. I choose the latter. It seems the best recipe for “Happily Ever After”.
